Heavy rainfall in recent days has caused damage to part of the Pogradec Ring Road escarpment. The municipality announced that the entrance segment of the Ring Road, from the direction of Qafë Thanë towards the city, will be temporarily blocked to avoid the risk of falling rocks on the road. The institution explained that the restriction only affects the entrance to the Ring Road.
The municipality announces that the opening of the segment will only take place after the interventions are completed and it is ensured that the area no longer poses a danger to drivers. Authorities call on citizens to respect the signage and instructions until the situation normalizes.
" All drivers are hereby notified that the entrance segment of the Pogradec Ring Road, coming from Qafë Thana towards the city, will be temporarily closed to traffic due to the risk of falling rocks, as a result of damage to part of the escarpment from recent rainfall. We emphasize only the entrance to the Ring Road.
"Field workers will continue work tomorrow to stabilize and improve the slope of the hill. The opening of this segment will be announced at a later date, once the works are completed and safety is guaranteed ," the municipality announced.
