The well-known lawyer Romeo Kara has commented on the latest political developments. Kara, who is one of the whistleblowers who has opened problems to former president Ilir Meta, warns that new news is expected from SPAK. According to him, Meta's attacks on SPAK show that the arrest warrant for him is ready.
According to him, the former president is threatening SPAK, the accusers and the witnesses who have confessed with facts the affairs that have sunk him. The lawyer also says that Ilir Meta with his schemes can be sent to prison but not to the madhouse. Romeo Kara also mentions the political alliance in 2013, where he betrayed Berisha to join Rama. According to the lawyer, the condition was that he would avoid the then confrontation with justice on January 21.
- How do you see Meta's attacks on SPAK?
On the one side of the coin, I see them as clear signs of fear, as a loss of self-control caused by fear and the consequences of a very soon possible criminal process to be developed against him and as a last resort to intimidate SPAK, the accusers and witnesses of his affairs. On the other hand, I see them as a loss of hope in facing justice and as a disappointment that he is feeling when he sees and thinks that his facing justice is not only possible, but also very fast. He is expressing his disapproval for justice to work against him and his ilk, letting me understand that he and the entire political elite have plunged into theft, embezzlement and total crime precisely because they thought they would never face justice, that the system would forever be captured by them and that no one would dare to face them. Finally, I consider these attacks as open threats by SPAK and its leaders, we who have made the reports and those who will testify, as insults and denigrations due to duty, which is considered a criminal offense by law, for which he must answer.
-Does he have an alibi to say that I am being hit politically?
Undoubtedly yes, although this type of alibi is not only miserable, but also legally worthless. He is simply seeking to create a coherence with all politics immersed in corruption like him, inviting him to the black solidarity around him against justice and in all views, up to the promise of redoing the justice reform from scratch. If we were to have a political process against him, we should have established with facts the political wing that is abusing justice against him, which he has failed to prove. On the contrary, this political establishment is basically like him, for him, and really hopes that the worst will happen so that he and those behind him will not face justice. Those who took him into a political alliance in 2013, making him Speaker of the Assembly and then President, actually avoided him from the then confrontation with justice on January 21 and almost rehabilitated him in front of the public. It was this condition that forced him to leave Berisha behind to join Rama. So we are simply dealing with a worthless justifying rhetoric alla Like.
- Is the divorce with Monika real or a maneuver to hide assets?
To my knowledge, they went from political alliance to marriage and gave the most banal example of familiarization of any kind of power in Albania. For interests, they got married, so it is not surprising that they broke up for them. I believe that they have hidden the assets offshore and that the SPAK will not leave without investigating the family of the two bachelors of the last few hours. I see both of them with very big problems with justice.
- What about the behavior that goes out to the mountains and rivers makes you look crazy to escape from the investigations?
Once he stole like a madman in power and now he will certainly react even more madly. However, we are the ones who made him and kept him in all the highest government positions, and now put up with his lunatic ramblings, who are more insane. The flaw is our shame and that of those who served him as the first man of the Assembly and the country. May they become blacker than Meta! This is my "wish" for them. Even if he plays the role of Agushi, he can escape the prison, but not the madhouse. He will surely go crazy for fun there.
