The press office of the State Police announced that the focus was on strengthening cooperation in the fight against narcotics.

The press office of the State Police announced that the focus was on strengthening cooperation in the fight against narcotics.
"Papadopoulos underlined that due to the geographical position that Albania has and its strategic importance as one of the routes for the trafficking of hard drugs, it is imperative that this cooperation continues and is strengthened by rising to higher levels of representation", he said. known State Police.
"Papadopoulos congratulated the General Director of Police for the results of the State Police in preventing and combating criminal activities in the field of narcotics and for combating drug distribution networks in the country. He pointed out that DEA has continuously assessed that close cooperation with law enforcement agencies in Albania is the right thing. He thanked the General Director for the cooperation and support offered to the representatives of this office, who cover Albania. Papadopoulos thanked the Director General of the Police and through him the structures for the investigation of organized crime, for the effectiveness in the exchange of information in real time and the immediate response to any information received by them", the announcement states.
For his part, the Director General of the State Police thanked Papadopoulos for the meeting, and expressed to him his gratitude for the DEA, for the trust given to the State Police and especially for the valuable information they exchanged.
The General Director informed the senior representatives of the DEA, about the developments in the State Police organization, which have brought many changes, both structural and managerial, since they respond in their entirety to very positive developments in the institutions of justice.
"During the meeting, the General Director emphasized the very good cooperation with the representatives of this agency, with the FBI and with the CIA, for the areas of competence of these agencies. On the other hand, he assessed the necessary need to strengthen this cooperation, to respond as efficiently as possible to the situations created recently, especially the increase in the criminal activity of Albanian drug trafficking groups, but what is more important for the prevention of serious crimes, which have occurred in Albania due to disputes between criminal groups that exercise activity mainly in the countries of origin of hard drugs", the announcement states.
"The Director General went on to guarantee DEA colleagues that the State Police will continue to remain committed to the prevention and suppression of hard drugs and will continue to be a serious and reliable partner that they can rely on anytime and for anything. He thanked the DEA, in particular, for the support it provided during the development of the last police operation, which made it possible to crack down on one of the most well-known exponents of organized crime, who carried out his criminal activity for the last 20 years in our country", concludes the announcement.
