The well-known journalist Lutfi Dervishi, invited to 'A Show', said that in terms of freedom of speech and media, Albania is worse than in 2013.
During the conversation in the studio, Dervishi stated that with the things, the scandals that have happened in Albania only in the last 6 months, half of the governments in the world should have fallen, but here the word has been devalued.
'I am a journalist, you are a government official, everyone should do their job. No, I see that the governors are becoming journalists, they are making television products, with small microphones and their own cameras, they are making ready-made chronicles, they are asking the questions, but they also give the answers. Thus, in this sense, it is no longer the healthy distance that you must keep strictly as a journalist, the strict one in the government. The rules of the game are no longer what they used to be.
We have to make some comparisons. The state of 2023 with the state of 2013, we are better or worse in terms of freedom. Of course, we are not better, in a state of freedom, but we are not at obobo either. The second comparison is with the region. We are not worse than the region, we are better than the region.
The third comparison is with the international indices, which unfortunately we have a kind of deterioration. Mainly during these 10 years we went down and we had some slight rise.
With the things that have happened here, half of the governments of the world could have been overthrown, just in the first 6 months of this year, but something has happened here that has devalued the word. And this process has been well thought out. Promote and finance many televisions, many programs, control editorial policies, or which people will lead political shows. Give importance to telenovelas, debates without bread every night, to appreciate the word', said Lutfi Dervishi.
