Expert Ervin Karamuço spoke about the Parliament's approval of the resolution declaring Iran a state sponsor of terrorism.
According to him, this measure comes after the United States' recognition since 2019 of several Iranian organizations as terrorists, the attack on commander Soleimani in Iraq, and subsequent measures such as economic sanctions and freezing of funds.
The expert added that Iran's terrorist acts against Albania have been coordinated and include cyberattacks and assassination attempts through links to Albanian and Turkish criminal groups.
"We should have done this from the moment we severed diplomatic relations, since we had already identified Iran as a state that had begun to commit terrorist acts. The hacking attack on our systems was the event that put a lid on this situation. There were also attempted attacks on Albanian territory by Revolutionary Guard proxies linked to Hezbollah, the Turkish mafia and Albanian organized crime. Think about how these chains were intertwined to commit these acts, under the cover of so-called journalists, or even in other cases against MEK members in the Manza camp ," he said.
Karamuço emphasized that Albania's decision is part of a geostrategic and geopolitical orientation, emphasizing that this political decision does not have direct military repercussions, but consists of a strategic and clear decision-making towards terrorist activities.
He stated that this decision is simply a political act and will have no consequences, either political or in other aspects.
