The fire situation has worsened in several areas of the country, with several active fires reported in Proptisht and Bulqizë during the evening.
Two fires have been registered in the Proptiste administrative unit, one in the village of Homçan and another in Somotina. Firefighters, forestry inspectors and residents are working in difficult conditions due to the mountainous terrain.
The fire in Homçan has been brought under control, while the situation remains problematic in Somotina, where the flames have spread rapidly due to the wind. Dozens of forces continue efforts to isolate and extinguish the fire.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out this afternoon in the village of Krajkë, in Bulqizë, covering an area of bushes and approaching dangerously close to residential areas.
The fire in this area has spread rapidly due to strong winds, making initial intervention by residents difficult. The intervention of local structures is expected to bring the situation under control and avoid further damage.
According to data, such cases are often related to the burning of grass on agricultural lands and meadows, a practice that in many cases leads to the uncontrolled spread of fire.
The phenomenon is repeated in the Bulqiza area and wider in the Dibër district, where damage to forest areas is recorded every year, mainly with burned oak trees.
Authorities are calling on residents to avoid starting fires during this period and are warning of punitive measures for any confirmed case of intentional or negligent fire-setting.
