Today at ten o'clock, Sali Berisha will appear before SPAK, in accordance with the mandatory appearance measure imposed by the special appeals judge.
In the judge's decision, Berisha is obliged to appear on the first and third Mondays and, as is understood, BKH officers will not take a break during these two days to administer the presence statement signed by the former prime minister.
The former prime minister is accused of corruption in connection with the privatization of the "Partizani" complex, a matter in which SPAK says he used the position of prime minister to favor the enrichment of his family, through his son-in-law, Jamarbër Malltezi.
Malltezi, whose house arrest was lifted, has been taken to court on charges of passive corruption and money laundering.
In addition to Berisha and Malltezi, the case also involves businessman Fatmir Bektashi, who is accused of active corruption and money laundering; Xhimi Begeja, Malltezi's partner and heir to the land where the former "Partizani" complex was located, accused of money laundering; and Andia Pustina, financier of the company "Homeplan", suspected of carrying out financial and legal operations related to money laundering. Three companies have also been brought to trial: "Kontakt", "Homeplan" and "Studio Pustina", also for money laundering.
