The Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, reacted after the seizure of over 37,000 cannabis plants in Shkodër. He requested that the police intensify preventive actions from the first moments of attempts to cultivate narcotic plants.
The Minister states, among other things, that all structures of the State Police should intensify controls in order to prevent and attack this phenomenon.
"The arrival of spring also brings back the efforts of criminal groups to cultivate narcotic plants. The State Police must intensify preventive actions from the first moments of attempts to cultivate narcotic plants. I congratulate the Local Police Directorate of Shkodër for the seizure of over 37 thousand cannabis sativa seedlings, and for the successive strikes to prevent attempts to cultivate narcotic plants, and I encourage all State Police structures to intensify controls in order to prevent and attack this phenomenon", writes Balla.
We remind you that in the framework of this action, citizen Naser Lohja, 38 years old, was arrested, while Pllumb Lohja, 48 years old, was announced as the suspected perpetrator of this criminal activity.
According to the police, 37,336 cubic meters of suspected cannabis sativa narcotic seeds and seedlings, 1 vehicle, 1 tractor and items used for this criminal activity were found and seized in this territory.
In the meantime, the work continues for the capture of the 48-year-old, as well as for the identification and prosecution of other citizens who may have been implicated in this case.
