A 46-year-old man was criminally prosecuted after he was caught passing an amount of 19,350 euros at the Kakavija customs office.
As a result of detailed controls, the services of the Border Police found a case of non-declaration of money.
"19,350 euros are seized and the 46-year-old man who did not declare the money at the border point of Kakavija, at the exit of RSh, is being prosecuted.
As a result of the maximum commitment of the Border Police services of PKK Kakavije, for the prevention and attack of border crimes, in addition to the work to provide a quality and ethical service to citizens entering/exiting, another case of non-declaration of money was hit .
On the basis of the risk analysis, upon exiting the country, the citizen Y. Sh. was checked in the second line, in whose bag 19,350 euros were found, which he was trying to take out of our country, without declared as defined by law.
Following the procedural actions for this case, the amount of money was seized and the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings began in a free state for the citizen Y. Sh., 46 years old, resident in Durrës.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Gjirokastër, for further actions, for the criminal offense "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", the police announced.
