The blockage of the Librazhd-Pogradec axis has directly affected intercity transport and has led to increased prices for thousands of travelers moving between cities.
A trip to Tirana, which previously cost 700 new lek, now costs 1,000 new lek for a ticket. The increase has particularly affected the lines connecting the southeast with the capital.
Citizens oppose this change and warn of economic hardship. They emphasize that "for many families this increase is unaffordable." Their concern is also related to the possibility that the new price will remain in effect even after normal traffic returns to the blocked axis.
Intercity bus drivers attribute the increase to the change in route. They report that the journey takes several hours longer than usual and requires more fuel. The diversion through the Maliq–Lozhan–Moglice–Gramsh segment has extended travel time and increased vehicle depreciation.
According to drivers, the alternative segment is narrow, with numerous curves and damage to the infrastructure, which has increased operating costs and directly affected the price of the ticket.
The situation on the roads continues to affect the movement of citizens and intercity transportation fares.
