Greek media newsbomb.gr writes that the next 24 hours are critical for the Archbishop's health, despite the fact that his condition is considered stable and under the monitoring of the medical team.
Archbishop Anastas, with a difficult medical history, is being cared for by Professor of Pulmonology and Intensive Care Medicine, Anastasia Kotanidou. The latter also took care of Anastas during the Covid period, when the Archbishop was hospitalized due to complications.
Fortlumturia is undergoing the necessary medical examinations and receiving appropriate care, Greek media write.
The plane with Archbishop Anastas of Albania landed at 19:34 on January 3 at the military airport of Elefsina. Then he was urgently transferred from the EKAB Unit to the "Evangelismos" hospital, where he is being treated.
According to the information, Archbishop Anastas is being treated on the 10th floor of the hospital, in the pavilion, and not in the Intensive Care Unit, as was initially announced, while the professor of Pulmonology and Intensive Care Medicine Anastasia Kotanidou together with her team took care of him. .
The Archbishop of Tirana is not intubated, but suffers from a respiratory infection and gastrointestinal bleeding.
Before the New Year, specifically on December 30, the Archbishop was admitted to a hospital in Tirana due to the seasonal flu.
In the announcement made public by the Archdiocese through his personal Facebook account, it is said that his health condition was stable and the doctors expressed optimism for his complete recovery, stressing that the symptoms he has presented are mild and within the expected framework for the viruses.
