Some cities in the country were left without electricity for about 30 minutes.
Cities such as: Tirana, Durres, Lezha, Shkodra, Kukësi, Saranda, Elbasan, Korça, Pogradeci have been left without lights.
Meanwhile, chaos and traffic has been caused on the streets of Tirana since the traffic lights were out of order. In areas such as: Pazari iri, Lapraka, Elbasan street, Fresku, Paris Municipality, Kavaja street, Vasil Shanto, Ali Demi, are some of the city streets where traffic has been created.
According to OSHEE's announcement, the 'black out' came as a result of damage to the Albania-Macedonia interconnection line.
Meanwhile, according to OST, the defect started from the interconnection line with Greece and then continued with a cascade effect throughout the country. According to the announcement, a defect was also identified on the Prizren line. From the initial review, it appears that the high volumes of transmission as well as the extreme temperatures were the causes of the total disconnection of the transmission lines. OST is taking measures to restore electricity to all consumers.
Meanwhile, after our country, many cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have been left without electricity.
Foreign media report that some parts of Montenegro have also remained without electricity such as: Budva, Bar, Risno, Podgorica.
The Montenegrin Electricity Distribution System (CEDIS) has announced that almost the entire area of Montenegro is without electricity. According to the notification, the problem is the interruption of the Montenegrin transmission system network.
