Baba Mondin (Edmond Brahimaj) has provided details on the progress of the steps for the creation of the Bektashi state in Albania, following the proposal made by Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In an interview for the "Insida Albania" program, Baba Mondi stated that the project has the full support of friends of the community, including the Muslim and Orthodox communities, with whom an agreement has been signed to establish a world headquarters of Bektashism and to give this community a global status.
"Friends support us, as we are not a divisive factor, we are lovers of peace. The Muslim Community has signed, the Orthodox Community has also signed the agreement that I made with them — for Bektashism to have a world headquarters, to receive global status. So we are not at war with anyone. We fight for ourselves, to be peaceful, kind-hearted, to educate people so that they have knowledge and not ignorance. Because, as is known, the three main enemies of humanity are ignorance, poverty and individual selfishness, " Baba Mondi told "Euronews Albania".
Next, Baba Mondi explained the progress of the Prime Minister's plan for the creation of a Bektashi state in Albania, emphasizing that joint working groups have been formed between representatives of the government and the Bektashi community.
“ In addition to what the Prime Minister said at the UN, the process is continuing. It is now up to the authorities to move forward. We have been given information that this will happen, and many representatives of the world patriarchate are working in cooperation with government working groups to bring a decision and a decree on this issue. Whether it will be a state or a mini-state, it will be an official decision. We do not know yet, because they are the ones who will decide on the future of Bektashism in Albania. They will seek the most reasonable solution, without constitutional violations or legal contradictions. Only the Prime Minister and the initiative group know exactly how it will move forward ,” concluded Baba Mondi.
