The situation in the "Lurë–Mali Dejës" National Park continues to remain critical due to the expansion of the perimeter of the fire that started more than two weeks ago.
The flames have swept through and burned about 200 hectares of coniferous forests in this area from the Lake of Flowers to Mount Dejës.
The most critical situation is in Zall Gjoçaj, where the evacuation of shepherds, stables, livestock, and bees that settle in the area every summer has been requested.
The flames continue to spread rapidly due to the steep mountainous terrain and strong winds that have been blowing for days.
Meanwhile, the Italian aircraft that began the firefighting operation on Monday afternoon and throughout Tuesday has suspended the operation because it was not very effective as it was dropping water from a very high altitude due to the mountainous terrain.
Employees of the Dibër municipality fire service, the forestry service, the local administration, and the armed forces continue to be on the ground extinguishing the flames.
