SPAK has taken a prison officer into custody, who allegedly gave Mayor Erion Veliaj his cell phone while he was under arrest.

It is learned that the police officer of the General Directorate of Prisons, Fatjon Baci, has been taken into custody by SPAK, after he is accused of giving Erion Veliaj a phone to communicate while he was being transported from Durrës Detention Center to the Special Appeal for security measures. The episode is suspected to have occurred on March 11, 2025.

SPAK has today communicated the charges to the persons under investigation in the Veliaj case. The mayor of Tirana himself has also been named as a defendant and was communicated 4 charges.
