The Beleri issue has become a "bone of contention" for the relations between Albania and Greece, while the latter has not stopped the attacks on our country...

The Greek Deputy Foreign Minister, Jorgos Kotsiras from Këlcyra, has openly attacked the Albanian government during the ceremony organized in the village of Bularat in Dropulli, regarding the Beleri case.

This morning, in the cemetery of Greek soldiers in Kilcyre, the ceremony was held in honor of Greece's JO against Italian fascism, which commemorates October 28, 1940, when the Italian-Greek war started. Also present at the ceremony was the Greek Deputy Foreign Minister, who reiterated Greece's position on the Beleri issue.

The Greek official stated that Greece hopes that the Beleri case will be resolved as soon as possible by the Albanian authorities and according to EU standards.

The message in question was delivered by Kotsiras at the cemetery where Greek soldiers are laid to rest.

"Just as the two-party agreement on the bones was discussed, we seek the same cooperation for the Beleri issue in order not to continue to negatively affect the relations between the two countries.

As was emphasized by Prime Minister Mitsotakis, Fredi Beleri has the right to be sworn in as the mayor of Himara, a right that originates from the constitution and is absolutely correct with European law, Greece unwaveringly supports Albania's entry into the EU, but this it means respecting the rule of law", said the Greek official.

What stands out and can be described as scandalous is the silence of the prefect of Gjirokastra, Odise Kote, as the only representative of the Albanian government, who followed with indifference the attack of the senior Greek official in an official ceremony.

The latter, as the sole representative of the Albanian government, did not react at all, indirectly accepting the claims of the Greeks for the release of Beler and his unjust imprisonment.

However, Kote's action has been described as a scandal, as he should have reacted at the moment when the Greeks continue to attack our country, threatening us with non-support during EU membership.

Next, the Greek diplomat Jorgos Kotsiras and the consul general went to Bularat where they laid flowers on the grave of Konstantinos Katsifas. Dozens of pilgrims gathered today in the village of Bularat to commemorate the 5th anniversary of the murder of the extremist Konstatinos Kacifas, while a mass was held in his honor in the village church.

In front of her son's grave, Katsifa's mother did not spare the anathemas against Prime Minister Edi Rama.

"Kostandin is a star of Vorio Epirus even though Rama will not be able to imprison a nation. Heroes don't go to jail. Constantine gives us strength from heaven. All MPs are incompetent for forgetting the brave men who fell for freedom," she said.

It is worth noting that it is not the first time that Greek state officials have 'threatened' Albania over the Beleri issue. The latter is in prison as he is accused of buying votes in the May 14 elections. The Greeks ask the Albanian government to release Beler and in this way he can be sworn in as the mayor of Himara.
