The Albanian royal family for the second time in a few months has received the main attention of the media.
Some time ago, Prince Leka and Princess Elia Zaharia went to court to resolve their agreement, but today they didn't even wait for the court to express themselves as they turned to the police asking for protection orders against each other after a physical collision the day before.
As it became known from the testimonies of the two, the Prince had gone to the royal residence where his ex-wife lived to meet his daughter and there he encountered the ex-father-in-law, the father of Elias. At this point, the parties are divided on how the fight happened, where the prince accuses the father-in-law and the latter the former son-in-law of physical violence.
Coincidentally, the scandal involving the royal family comes exactly 100 years after the prince's grandfather, Ahmet Zogu, was injured in Parliament.
It was February 21, 1924 when he was shot three times with a pistol by Valter Beqiri in his position as prime minister. The latter was arrested and Iljaz Vrioni, former prime minister, took the floor calming the Parliament. Zogu himself addressed the deputies saying "Gentlemen, it is not the first time that something like this has happened, so please my friends forget for a moment what happened and deal with this matter later".
The son of Ahmet Zogu, Leka took the front pages of the newspapers in 1997. He initially led the supporters of the Monarchy towards the referendum on the form of government on June 29 and July 11. But after losing the referendum he led an uprising. Film footage of him, dressed in a military uniform and holding a gun, went around the world. Some time later he left the country to finally return in June 2002.
Recently, the grandson of Ahmet Zog, the Prince, who received the attention of the media as he accused his ex-father-in-law of tearing his sweatshirt.../ TCH
