
The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has reacted after the report of the Police Supervision Agency about the scandal with the TIMS system.
AMP's report came days after the US embassy raised concerns about the data leak.
In the reaction of the prosecution body, it is said that the materials submitted by AMP for the TIMS system were not complete, while the dossier has been sent to the Police Supervision Agency for additional investigations.
"The materials submitted by the Police Surveillance Agency to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana regarding the situation in the Information Technology Directorate (TIMS) system seem to have been incomplete. For this reason, the prosecution body has delegated the fascicle for which it is being investigated to the AMP, where additional actions are being carried out", the prosecution's response states.
AMP's report came a few days after the denunciation of the scandal that prompted a reaction from the US embassy, which raised concerns about the data leak. The chargé d'affaires of the American embassy in Tirana, Martin McDowell, in a meeting with the Minister of the Interior, Taulant Balla, expressed the concern of the US regarding the breach in the TIMS system in the State Police, requesting a quick and complete investigation as well as offering American support. as far as investigations are concerned.
