The American media "New York Post" writes in an article that "Crown Prince Leka II of Albania has claimed that he was severely attacked by his ex-wife, Princess Elia, and her father just a few weeks after they announced their divorce."
The king, who announced he was separating from his wife after seven years of marriage in January, is seeking police involvement following the alleged domestic assault.
According to images that circulated on social networks this week, Prince Leka was allegedly involved in a physical confrontation between Princess Elias and her father Gjergj Zaharia.
The Albanian Royal Court issued an official statement, claiming that the Crown Prince was "physically attacked with hard objects".
The statement says that his ex-wife and her father were behind the attack.
Meanwhile, the British tabloid "Daily Mail" has devoted a long article to the conflict between them, where it writes that Prince Leka claims that Princess Elia and her father, 73 years old, have attacked him with "hard objects", while their video fighting was published on social media 2 months after the couple's divorce.
"Daily Mail" writes that Elia Zaharia broke her silence about the conflict yesterday, where according to her, her involvement in the fight was simply an attempt to stop the Prince. She found Prince Leka at home abusing the former father-in-law, 73 years old.
