The Director General of the State Police, Director Madhor Skender Hita, received in a meeting the Ambassador of the Netherlands to Albania, Reinout Vos, as well as the Dutch Liaison Officer attached to the State Police.
During the meeting, Ambassador Vos presented Director Hita with a congratulatory letter sent by the Director of the Dutch Police, Janny Knol, on the occasion of his assumption of office.
In her message, Knol expresses her consideration for the new head of the State Police and appreciates the cooperation between the two countries in the fight against cross-border crimes.
"I express my highest consideration for you and the Albanian State Police, and I wish you much success in your duty. Both the Dutch Police and the State Police share a high commitment to the fight against cross-border crimes," her letter states.
Director Hita thanked the ambassador for the visit and conveyed through him the mutual consideration for his Dutch counterpart. He emphasized that the cooperation between specialized structures of the State Police and law enforcement agencies in the Netherlands has brought concrete results in the localization, capture and extradition of internationally wanted persons.
According to him, the cooperation has also included the creation of joint investigative teams, the real-time exchange of criminal intelligence, and the tracking and seizure of criminal assets.
Further, Hita expressed the readiness of the State Police to continue and expand cooperation with the Dutch authorities in all aspects that will be referred to in the future by the Contact Officer.
On the other hand, Ambassador Vos congratulated Director Hita on his new assignment and praised his vision for leading the State Police. He guaranteed the continued support of Dutch law enforcement agencies in strengthening security and the fight against cross-border crime.
The focus of the meeting was also the presentation of the Director General's vision for a modern, reliable police force closer to citizens, as well as the strengthening of the partnership between the State Police and the law enforcement agencies of the Netherlands in the fight against international organized crime.
