Thousands of citizens gathered again in Tirana on Thursday for the 12th day of protests against the Rama government. Protesters continued to call for the resignation of the prime minister, while a series of speeches were delivered by citizens, immigrants, and students.
An immigrant who addressed the crowd appealed for the participation of Albanians living abroad, inviting them to join the protest announced for the 13th.
"My dear, you have not stopped for 12 days. I send a message to all immigrants, just as I have fled from this politics. I have bought a one-way ticket. All my compatriots, come here. Come, give us a hand to throw out this system, this corrupt government, this prime minister. Come immigrants, we cannot stay away from our country. We cannot always remain our parents' ATM. On the 13th we said that it is an immigrant protest, come please, there is no more time," said an immigrant.
During the protest, another participant stated that the civic movement has attracted the attention of international media and described it as a demonstration of civic values.
" This protest has received the attention of all the world's media. This protest demonstrated citizenship and values. We have children, grandparents, mothers, daughters, all Albanians in the square. Only this spirit will bring down the government, Rama and his friend Berisha," said another protester.
Students also participated in the protest, demanding that the issues they have raised over the years not be forgotten.
"They are many, but all of us together are even more. They haven't settled their scores with the students yet, but we don't forget ," said a student.
