A commemorative ceremony is being held today for the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the World Headquarters of the Bektashi Order in Albania.
Baba Mondi expressed his gratitude for the Albanian government and for Prime Minister Rama's proposal to create the Sovereign Bektashi State.
Baba Mondi emphasized the importance of establishing an International Legal Status for the Bektashi Order, an initiative that, according to him, would contribute to strengthening the position of the Bektashi community at the international level. He noted that he hopes that this year will mark the achievement of this important goal for Bektashism.
"We express our gratitude to the Albanian Government and especially its Head, Mr. Edi Rama, who has shown attention and sensitivity to this necessity, bringing closer the possibility of a more appropriate solution to the Statute in question," said Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj.
In his speech, Haxhi Dede Edmond Brahimaj also focused on the anniversary of the historic meeting with Pope Francis, which had as its main theme peace and harmony between faiths, emphasizing that such messages are sacred to the Bektashi community.
"For us, a year with these good signs is hope that this will be a year of fulfillment, of realizing an early need of our community and of stabilizing an international legal statute of the Bektashi Order," he said, hoping that a solution to this issue is on the horizon.
Finally, he appealed for mutual respect between the Bektashi community and others, also mentioning the importance of respect for those who do not share the same religious faith, underlining that this is an essential component of harmony and coexistence in Albania and in the world.
“May God bless us all,” concluded Baba Mondi, expressing his belief in a brighter future for the Bektashi community and for relations between religious groups.
