As the protests against the project in Zvërnec have entered their 19th day and demands for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama continue to be heard at citizen rallies, Prince Leka's reaction has also arrived.
Through a post on social media, he commented on recent developments in the country, focusing attention on the debate on environmental protection, institutional transparency, and the voices of citizens who have been part of the protests for days.
Prince Leka emphasizes that Albanian nature should not only be seen as a source of economic development, but as part of national identity and heritage.
"Albania's nature is not simply an economic asset or a source of development. It is part of our identity, our collective memory and the legacy we will leave to future generations," he writes.
In his message, he appreciates the engagement of citizens and their demand for more transparency in decision-making.
"Precisely for this reason, it is encouraging to see so many citizens who are engaged, who raise questions and who demand to be heard. A vibrant society is not one that is silent, but one that cares about its future ," says Prince Leka.
He adds that Albania needs development, but also strong institutions and sincere dialogue between the parties.
"Albania needs development, but it also needs strong institutions, honest dialogue, and decisions that build trust. Only in this way can we move forward without losing what makes us unique and without leaving behind the values we want to protect," his reaction concludes.
We recall that just a few days ago, Prince Leka was also seen at the protest organized in Tirana, where he participated together with his wife Blerta Celibashi and their daughter, Geraldine.
