SPAK has uncovered the scheme of how the criminal group discovered in Operation "Pandora" deceived Germans through call centers.
Prosecutor Eneid Nakuçi said that they posed as police officers with the aim of recovering funds from people who had lost them in the field of cryptocurrencies and Forex, while also engaging in banking fraud.
The group also appears to be involved in investment fraud and scams to help these individuals recover these losses.
SPAK prosecutor Eneid Nakuçi emphasized, among other things, that 5 people have been arrested, while 3 others have been placed under "house arrest." The criminal group caused over 360 million lek in damage.
"The investigation phase in the 'Pandora' operation for call centers has been closed. The investigation began in 2023, in cooperation with the General Prosecutor's Office in Germany. The group acted as fake police officers trying to recover damages in the field of cryptocurrencies and forex. On April 18 of last year, SPAK conducted a search of the premises of a call center in Tirana, where evidence was administered. The Germans sent material evidence, which led to suspicions of the existence of a criminal group, not only foreign. On July 28, the court ordered the detention of five citizens," said SPAK prosecutor Eneid Nakuçi.
