NATO air exercise, the Civil Aviation Authority reacts: Flight cancellations in Europe on June 12-23

From June 12 to 23, NATO plans to hold the largest air exercise in the history of this alliance.

While the Civil Aviation Authority announced today that there may be flight delays and cancellations on these dates.

In the announcement published on Facebook, Civil Aviation clarifies that "from June 12-23, 2023, "Air Defender 23" will take place in Europe - the largest exercise in the history of NATO, involving 25 countries over 10,000 troops and 220 aircraft. Flight delays and cancellations are expected due to this activity. Eurocontrol (NM), Civil Aviation Authorities (ACAA), Air Navigation Service Providers (Albcontrol) and Airports (TIA) are working intensively to minimize this impact ," the announcement states.
