Journalist Mentor Kikia has stated that the government should not measure tourism by how many people enter the Albanian territory, but by how much money the tourism industry affects the state budget.
Kikia emphasized that the government counts as tourists in Albania those Kosovar citizens who enter Morina and leave Murriqni to go to Montenegro, who have not spent a single day in Albania.
" We have to give up counting tourists, because if we count them in and out, more than 7 million can come out. But we have to count the voice of tourism in money. How much money did we earn from tourism? The government calculates so much income from agriculture, so much from oil and calculates how much money tourism gave. It should be counted with money and not with heads. We count the Kosovars when they enter Morina and we count them again when they go down to Murriqan, when they left only the smoke here and got the fuel in Kosovo at a cheaper price, "said Kikia .
