Is the healthcare provided to the child from Gaza a signal for sheltering many others?

The sheltering of a Palestinian family in Tirana a few days ago caused a stir in our country. The minor child of the family of 5 was admitted to the Pediatrics for treatment, while both the Prime Minister and the Minister, as well as the hospital staff, reacted.

The Prime Minister sold the trust he placed in our healthcare system as a success, but did not provide the real reasons why a child had to be brought from Gaza to Albania for health treatment, while he could have been treated in many other, closer countries.

The signs are that this could be the first movement of an even larger movement. There has long been talk that Albania could become a place of refuge for many Gazans fleeing the war. Although the ceasefire is being restored there, there are many others who are injured or in need of help and it is not surprising that a large part of them end up in our country.

Just as Rama opened the door for Meloni to bring in illegal African immigrants caught in Italian waters, there are rumors that hundreds or thousands of Palestinians could be accepted.

A similar warning was given by Ermir Gjinishi, a lecturer at the Institute of European Studies. He stated that Palestinian Major General Gibril Rajub met with Prime Minister Rama and Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha, who accepted the request.

"An interesting Palestinian character has been in Albania these days, Gibril Rajub, Major General. He has come twice in 30 days. He was at an event at the Palace of Congresses on December 17, with the mayor of the municipality Erion Veliaj. There is another meeting afterwards. On January 6, he met with Edi Rama at 11:00 and at 1:00 in Rogner with Berisha. The problem is what was discussed. Three important issues, accommodation opportunities for Gaza refugees in Albania, and placement in empty apartments," he said in a show yesterday.

According to Gjinishi, there has been talk of purchasing 20,000 apartments in Tirana alone, where the donor will be the European Union and the cost will be 800 euros per square meter.

It is not known how true this is, but it would not be a surprise, since Albania has become a haven for Iranians, Afghans, refugees brought from Italy, and it is no surprise that Afghans are coming. /Pamphlet
