'Taxi to England'/ Albanian gangs send women and children for 18

Albanian gangs have started a smuggling service, where for 18 thousand pounds, only for 'women and children', they send them to England, to reunite with their relatives men who have already entered there secretly.
Traffickers are securing genuine EU passports issued by corrupt Italian officials that use the name of a real person but with the illegal immigrant's photo, an undercover investigation by the Daily Mail has revealed.
They then hire drivers to take customers to the UK using these seemingly legitimate travel documents.
"The illegal operation caters to the growing market of Albanian men who have already come to the UK illegally. They have usually arrived via more dangerous routes, such as small boats or trucks, and now want to bring their families, but with less risk," writes the Daily Mail.

The Albanian band advertised its service on TikTok on February 25, where it was written: Taxi France to the United Kingdom for families and girls only. Who is interested? 100 percent safe.

A Mail reporter posing as an Albanian woman messaged the group and was told the price was '£18,000'. The reporter was then given the phone number of a person believed to be the leader of the gang. Women using the service must name a family member already in England, who the London-based gang boss visits before the trip to check he has the money to pay.

To show he was sincere, the alleged gang boss sent a video showing the driver of a white Fiat 500 waving to a woman and child he had just dropped off. He explained that she was the wife of his friend he had smuggled. This Daily Mail investigation came after the European Border Agency reported an increase in passport fraud at external borders.

Tony Smith, the former director-general of the Border Force, said the 'real fake' passports were a "new headache" for the Home Office. Dan Barcroft, of the National Crime Agency, said: Albanian people-smuggling groups are nimble and adaptable. We are working with partners in the UK and overseas to target, disrupt and dismantle these networks wherever they operate."
