"Separate the position of the Parliament from that of SPAK", Vangjeli:

Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli said that the decision against former Prime Minister Berisha to remain under house arrest until the charges were announced was unfair, comparing it to a "Stalinist" mentality prison.

Vangjeli said that it would be necessary to separate the political position of the Parliament from the legal position of SPAK, regarding the entire period where the head of the Democratic Party was under house arrest.

"There is a moment of great misunderstanding because there are two collisions, the legal judgment and the political judgment. Elements of one are transported to the other and vice versa, leading to wrong conclusions. Starting from the beginning, everyone is equal before the law, it is not true as an axiom, because the Constitution, due to special functions, due to being elected, gives a special protection before the law. So Mr. Berisha could not be treated in such a way. We still continue with the Stalinist mentality. What was the point that he stayed for 250 days, until yesterday he communicated the accusation", said Vangjeli to "Euronews Albania".

According to him, Berisha was hindered in the political process and there should not be a security measure, while the Parliament should grant him freedom until the investigations are completed.
