The protest held this Tuesday in front of the Parliament escalated into tensions, after a group of protesters blocked the entrances to the building, making it difficult for MPs and ministers to exit during the plenary session.
As several MPs and members of the government left Parliament, protesters greeted them with chants and threw eggs in their direction.
As can be seen from the footage, the officers pushed the protesters to make way for the vehicle of one of the government members, specifically Deputy Prime Minister Albana Koçiu.

Due to the situation, there were several clashes between protesters and State Police officers, who tried to create security corridors for the movement of officials. The Rapid Intervention Forces (RINF) then arrived in the area to open the road and restore normalcy.
The protesters, who began their rally at 10:00 AM, parallel to the plenary session, blocked all three entrances to the Parliament building, including the main entrance. Police clashed with the crowd several times, pushing back the protesters in an attempt to free the entrances.
Throughout the protest, chants such as "Down with the dictatorship!", "Parliament of crime!" and "Cancel the laws!" were heard, while protesters demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama and the government.
Despite high temperatures, the protest continued for more than two hours in front of the Parliament building, under increased security measures and the presence of law enforcement.
