The Archdiocese of Shkodra has reacted through a statement regarding the tense situation in Theth, where an IKMT action to demolish unauthorized constructions has been ongoing for 5 days, but there are also clashes and tensions between residents and law enforcement or inspectors.
The Archbishopric emphasizes in its reaction that "we are concerned about what is happening in the Theth area."
"We firmly condemn all forms of violence, from whatever side it comes. We stand with people of good will, with those who work with honesty, sacrifice and dignity, often in suffering and in silence."
Respect for law and justice is an essential duty for everyone.
We believe that it is fundamental to protect the environment, a precious gift from God, but at the same time, it is also necessary to protect those who, through hard work and dedication, strive to live honorably and build a better future for themselves and their children.
"We sincerely pray that this situation will be resolved as soon as possible," the statement said.
