Afghans sheltered in Shëngjin have expressed their concern over the decision of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, to suspend the refugee program for 90 days.
They appeal for the US to intervene to support the Afghan community and offer them a more secure future, emphasizing that their dream is America.
According to them, the decision to suspend the refugee program endangers not only their future, but also the lives of many Afghans who are still in Afghanistan and face constant threats from the Taliban.
" We have helped the American army in Afghanistan. We ask that they not forget our people. We have helped the American army, we have helped NATO forces. They are facing the danger from the Taliban. If Trump continues in this direction with these decisions, it is the end of us. This means that our lives end. There are 200 Afghan families in Shëngjin and today 115 more people came," the Afghans said in a statement to "Abcnews".
According to them, Trump's decision is not fair and their hope for a better life could be extinguished.
