The court of Berat has released from prison the former prosecutor of Saranda Sali Hasa, who was sentenced by a final decision by the Special Appeal to 3.6 years in prison. The black squads of Berat have accepted Hasa's request for parole.
A few weeks ago, he addressed the court with a request for freedom for good behavior, a request which was accepted by the Court of Berat, a few days ago.
In May 2022, the Court of Appeal overturned the sentence of 2 years in prison of the first degree against the former prosecutor, deciding to finally sentence him to 3 years and 6 months in prison.
The ex-prosecutor of Saranda was arrested in June 2021 by order of SPAK, after it was suspected that he had dismissed a criminal proceeding against a person in exchange for receiving money.
According to SPAK, the former prosecutor allegedly took bribes from Elsona Papa, the sister of the citizen Emiljano Mirani, a person the prosecutor had under investigation, subsequently dismissing the case.
The brother and sister were also found guilty of corruption. Sali Hasa started to be processed in 2020.
11 million old ALL and 2 thousand euros were found in his apartment.
Also, the GJKKO sentenced Emiljano Miran to 2 years and 6 months in prison, Elsona Papa to 1 year in prison, Napolon Hodaj to 2 years in prison, Julian Zera to 1 year and 3 months in prison, Markelian Alinani to 3 years and 6 months in prison, Qerim Ruçi with 2 years and 6 months in prison, Bledar Hajredini with 2 years in prison.
