With these words, the 62-year-old director of KEP in Viotia, who is accused of burying her mother near her home, tried to justify the unjustified.
The investigation into the circumstances in which the unprecedented incident occurred is still ongoing, with police officers trying to shed light on all the dark corners and answer essential questions.
One of them is who this "Jannis" is that the accused is referring to.
She said the man was a worker in the village, but so far no one who has spoken to the police has identified him. Investigators consider his discovery essential because, according to the accused, he was the person who helped her transport and bury her mother. The question is whether this man really exists, since, as mentioned above, no one knows him or has seen him.
As for the 62-year-old's mother, residents told authorities that they had not seen her since 2021 and that the accused repeatedly told them that she was at home.
The mystery of the case began to unravel recently, when some people realized that the author was presenting another elderly village resident as her mother to public services and the IKA.
She also introduced the same woman to the police, who went to her house and called her to tell them where her mother was.
Police, who searched the 62-year-old's home, headed to the neighboring barn and dug a small hole, finding the 91-year-old's lifeless body inside.
The body was not buried very deeply and was only covered with soil, while the pit had a small diameter, which means that the person who buried it decided to wrap it.
