The former chief of police, Faik Basha, has spoken about the suicide of police officer Arben Pjeçi, who ended his life by shooting himself with a bullet in the heart inside the premises of the police station in Durrës.
According to the expert, a reason that may have influenced the taking of this extreme act is his suspension from office after 35 years of service. He said that the psychological condition of the police officer was very difficult.
"One of the points that sent this police officer to commit suicide could be his long career in the structures and with a decision within 24 hours he throws this on the street and in the mouth of those he has fought for 35 years.
Under these conditions, the psychological and economic situation that may have existed, that I believe that all police officers had a salary that, at the first moment that would be cut off, would put them in very difficult conditions even to ensure their livelihood, the conditions economic and throwing him on the street without any protection in the hands of those whom he has followed for 35 years as law breakers may have sent him to suicide", said the expert.
