The march continues/ The crowd of citizens goes to "Astir":
Protesters sit for a few minutes at the Astir intersection

The civic protest, which has entered its 12th day, did not end with the rally in front of the Prime Minister's Office. Thousands of citizens continued to march on the streets of Tirana, extending the revolt beyond the capital's main boulevard.

After speeches and calls in front of the government headquarters, the protesters headed towards Zog i Zi, creating long columns of people that blocked movement for several moments at one of Tirana's most important junctions.

From there, the march continued towards the former Customs area and then to Astir, where the protesters were greeted with applause and cheers from the residents of the area. With red and black flags in their hands and anti-government banners, the citizens repeatedly repeated the calls that have now become a symbol of this movement.

"Rama in prison!", "Berisha in prison!", "The end has come!" and "New Albania!" were the slogans that accompanied the march along the entire route.

Unlike traditional political protests, participants have emphasized that this movement is not directed solely against the government, but against the entire political class that, according to them, has held the country hostage for more than three decades.

After passing through Astir, the protest returned to the center of Tirana and "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard, closing another day of mass mobilization that the organizers describe as historic.

But attention is already focused on tomorrow's protest.

At the end of the march, organizers and activists issued a strong call for as large a turnout as possible, following Prime Minister Edi Rama's announcement of a rally to be held in "Italia" Square at the same time as the civic protest.

According to them, citizens should respond with even greater participation to what they consider a government attempt to dampen the popular revolt.

"Tomorrow, let's be as much against Rama's anti-rally as possible with his administration!" was the message that was repeatedly conveyed at the end of the protest.

A large part of the calls were also directed at public administration employees. Protesters demanded that they not be used as a political shield for the government, but rather join the citizens who are demanding change.

According to them, the massive turnout of recent days has shown that the revolt is expanding beyond the usual political boundaries and that for the first time in many years citizens are organizing without traditional parties.

As the protest enters its 13th day, organizers expect tomorrow's confrontation between the civic rally and the counter-rally announced by the prime minister to mark another important moment in this movement that has been keeping Tirana afloat for almost two weeks.
