The new academic year (2026-2027) in higher education institutions will begin on October 5, 2026 and end on September 24, 2027. This is stipulated in the order signed by the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro.
The document also provides that public higher education institutions, after completing the registration of winning candidates, send to all branches the "Student Voice", as well as the lists of registered students according to study programs and relevant faculties.
The Secretary General, the General Directorate of Higher Education Development and Scientific Research, the Educational Services Center, and higher education institutions have been tasked with implementing this order.

ON DETERMINING THE STARTING AND END DATE OF THE 2026-2027 ACADEMIC YEAR, IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
In support of Article 102 of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania, letter “ç”, point 2, Article 7 and point 1, Article 87, of Law No. 80/2015 “On higher education and scientific research in higher education institutions in the Republic of Albania”;
I ORDER:
The beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year, in higher education institutions, on October 5, 2026 and its end on September 24, 2027.
Public higher education institutions, upon completion of the registration of winning candidates, send to all branches the "Student Voice", as well as the list of registered students, according to the study programs and respective faculties.
The Secretary General, the General Directorate of Higher Education Development and Scientific Research, the Educational Services Center and higher education institutions are responsible for the implementation of this order.
This order takes effect immediately.
