Delay in counting, CEC calls on parties: The process should close at 24:00

The Central Election Commission has made a direct appeal to political parties that have members in the Zonal Electoral Administration Commissions (KZAZ) and Vote Counting Groups (GNV), requesting the acceleration of the counting process in areas where it has not yet been completed.

"The Central Election Commission calls on political parties that have members in the CEAZ and the GNV to take their responsibility to encourage the counters and commissioners in the CEAZs where the vote counting process has not yet been completed, so that this process is completed within the legal deadline, specifically by 24:00 today," the CEC statement reads.

The CEC says there is no reason for this process not to be concluded within this deadline, appealing for the fulfillment of legal obligations by all parties involved.

On the other hand, the CEC requires candidates for deputies to respect the right to observe the process without exerting pressure on the commissioners.

"Recognizing and respecting the right of candidates for MPs to observe and supervise the counting process, we invite them to avoid any involvement in unnecessary communications or pressure on the counters and commissioners. The responsibility for the failure to finalize the process on time lies entirely with the political parties. The Central Election Commission has undertaken and is undertaking all efforts to guarantee the smooth conduct and completion of the process," the CEC statement reads.

At the end of the statement, it is stated that measures are warned against those who do not comply with the deadline.

"If the situation does not change within the specified deadline, we regret to announce that all responsible persons will face legal sanctions," the CEC statement concludes.
