The security expert, Fatjon Softa, speaking about the serious event in Pogradec where 42-year-old Eglantin Proga lost his life as a result of violence, said that we have an increase in cases of violence and serious events in the country.
Invited to the column "Issue of the Day" on News24, Softa said that initially it was reported about the incident in Pogradec that the victim had consumed alcohol, fell and died, which was not true.
The security expert said that the transport to the hospital to give first aid to the 42-year-old could have been done by both the citizens and the police.
" The police have not made any statement regarding the incident, we have a statement from the day before, after the person lost his life. The 42-year-old man died as a result of violence, the marks on his body were found as a result of violence. The victim was not on an abandoned street, it was in the most populated area of the city ," said Softa.
The security expert said that the event in Pogradec was revealed after reactions and pressures on social networks or the media.
He said that the police had all the time to look at the cameras, had the opportunity to look at the phone records and had to find out the reasons or the cause of the crime.
" Such violence does not happen to take the life of a person from a momentary conflict, since he was violated until he took his life ," said the expert.
He stated that the charge of "murder by negligence" means that a person does not have the will to commit the murder.
" But when you hit a person, then you know the consequences. How can the use of violence be unintentional? This cannot be classified as an accidental death, this is an event that, regardless of how it is classified, must be clarified, from the investigative work of the police to the reasons why the crime happened , "said Softa.
