Alma Beqiri, arrested under the charge of fraud, is expected to appear before the Court today to familiarize herself with the security measure. The prosecution requests a prison sentence.
The 46-year-old worked as an agent at the private post office "Adex" in Korçë and Pogradec. The arrested person was delivering various postal packages, for the account of third parties, and she did not transfer the monetary amounts she collected from the customers to the account of the selling commercial entities, nor to the company that performed this service.
How did the scheme work?
The post office had agreements with private companies that operated online. When she delivered the sent materials, the money for the service did not go to the post office's account but to the account of the agent herself.
According to the police during the period 2021-2023, in which he acted as an agent of private postal services in Korça and Pogradec, it is suspected that through fraud, he embezzled the amount of 3,000,000 euros," the Korça police informed today. Securing these large profits have

Police say that the proceeds were invested in the purchase of real estate and commercial businesses, in the name of herself and her family members.
The police operation was coded "Postmail" and was finalized after a 2-month in-depth investigation by the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, under the direction of the Korca Prosecutor's Office.
As material evidence, 2 vehicles, used by the 46-year-old woman, were seized.
