After intensive efforts by emergency forces, the fire situation nationwide appears more stabilized, although 29 out of 57 fires reported in the last 24 hours remain active.
The most problematic foci are located in the regions of Vlora, Berat, Dibër, Elbasan, Tirana, Gjirokastër and in several protected mountain areas.
Although there have been several new fires in the Skënderbegës Administrative Unit and the Dushkut Tekke, the risk of the flames spreading is lower.
However, the high density of the forest on the eastern side of the village of Ermenj remains problematic, making it difficult for civil emergency teams to isolate active fires, and if the fire is not controlled, it will spread to the territory of Korça Prefecture.
Intervention will also need to be carried out in the Kukur Administrative Unit so that the fire does not gain ground. So in total, there are four active fire outbreaks in Gramsh.
On the other hand, the preliminary balance of fires is worrying.
"According to official data, 42 houses in Skënderbegës and other villages have been burned so far, as well as 130 heads of small livestock, 22 cattle, 1 ungulate, 80 beehives and many birds. The authorities have started the process of burying the dead animals to avoid the risk of an epidemic outbreak," the Ministry of Defense announced.
The number of evacuated people has increased to 46, after 6 more people were accommodated in the state dormitory on Wednesday evening, in addition to the first 40 evacuees. From this building, they are asking the state to compensate them.
"Six huts. I have sheep in a mountain in Korça, I had 10 heads at home. The cow with all her calves, 10 days old, has been burned. Everything has been destroyed. I have no supplies. Even if I had the livestock, they would die to eat. We don't know what happened there. We left everything there. Without a house, without an economy, the livestock has been partially burned. About 50 army forces, 7 fire engines and 200 volunteers have been deployed on the ground. The preliminary assessment shows that about 10 villages have been affected by the flames in the territory of Gramsh, while in Bletez and Shëmbërdhenj nothing has been left behind.
