Fires in the country, meteorology gives good news: The thermometer will no

After the fires that scorched Albania during these days, temperatures have begun to drop today, which is expected to bring short-term local precipitation in almost all regions.

Meteorologist Anira Gjoni said that the high temperatures our country faced favored fires. But starting today, temperatures will drop.

"Generally, the cause is people, as the first spark can be caused unintentionally or through negligence by people and the atmospheric conditions have been favorable for their spread. Even a discarded cigarette butt is enough to spread a fire."

The problem still remains, even though today and tomorrow there is a decrease in the risk of fires, as most regions move to the moderate risk level, we expect to have light local precipitation that will affect the hilly, mountainous areas of all regions. The regions of Shkodër, Dibër, Lezhë remain at high risk. As for the weather conditions for the next two days, we expect to have light local precipitation in almost all regions. Temperatures will drop", Anira Gjoni told "Report TV".

Meteorology highlighted that wind was another factor that contributed to the massive spread of the fires.

"An element that affects the increase in risk is the wind, which has favored it during these days as the wind has been blowing light to medium, but at times it has been blowing strong on the coast and coastal areas. This is what most affects the ignition or strengthening of fires," she said.

Meanwhile, according to the meteorologist, the last two weeks of August will end with higher temperatures than the beginning of the month, but the thermometer will not touch 40 degrees Celsius.

"The remaining two weeks will have higher temperatures than the first week, but lower than the second week, we do not expect them to reach 40 degrees. This weekend will end with temperatures of 33-34 degrees Celsius. While next week we expect it to reach 35-36 degrees. The minimum temperature in Tirana was 25 degrees, while in Orikum it was 28 degrees, in Kuç in Vlorë the minimum night temperature was 27 degrees. These have been very high temperatures as they are not normal", she concluded.
