The golden road that is remaining on the roads/ Cost billions, Thumane-Kashar

The Thumane-Kashar axis is probably the most expensive road in the world per kilometer, costing up to four times more...

One of the biggest affairs of this government is undoubtedly the Thumane-Kashar axis. Although it was trumpeted by the government, this axis has not only turned into a nightmare for the residents of the area, but also for the drivers who travel.

Two months after the inauguration of the axis, the asphalt has started to become potholes, turning into gangrene for drivers. As the company of Bashkim Ulaj has laid two fingers of asphalt, all the trucks that have passed there have damaged the carriageway. From a simple observation, all cars move to the speed lane, as the other side is a risk of accidents since the speed is too high.

The Thumane-Kashar axis is probably the most expensive road in the world per kilometer, costing up to four times more than European roads. A report by the European Investment Bank shows that in 2021, a concession contract for the construction of a 32 km long highway in the Czech Republic, including maintenance for 28 years, cost 16.5 million euros/km. In Latvia, the Kekava Bypass concession for construction and maintenance for 20 years cost 14.2 million euros/km

In Albania, Gener 2 has received a concession worth 1.3 billion euros for 35 years for the Thumanë-Kashar axis, where its construction, maintenance and transfer will cost 61.9 million euros/km, a value 3 to 4 times higher than European partnerships. This axis has cost nearly 435 million euros and not only is it not up to standard, but has turned into a nightmare for the residents of the area.

They have been protesting for several weeks, as today the protest will be moved in front of the Parliament. The scandal is that the highway was built, but no entrance or exit roads were left for the villages there. All the villages are isolated and the inhabitants have no way to move. In addition, the old road has been blocked, in order to benefit Bashkim Ulaj. Another scandal is the payment. Although it was said that the payment will be 2.1 euros, in fact the citizens pay 270 ALL. And the scandalous thing is that they do not accept payments in euros, although it is said that it is 2.1 euros. So a genuine scene of robbery, which forces SPAK to be put into action urgently. / Pamphlet
