Luxury Girls/ How Instagram and Private Jets Lead SPAK to Cocaine Money

Shkruar nga Pamfleti

Following US pressure to crack down on international drug traffickers, investigations have shifted from cargo to money and lifestyle. SPAK is tracking the display of luxury on Instagram, private jet travel and high-value goods to uncover unjustified wealth. Girls linked to political figures and international traffickers have come under the scanner, while social media is serving as a source of financial evidence in new anti-trafficking and money laundering cases...

Following a direct order from the US administration to intensify the fight against international drug traffickers, law enforcement agencies have changed the way they build criminal cases. The investigation no longer stops just at drugs, their routes and encrypted communications, but extends to money, how it is spent and the public display of luxury that is not supported by legal sources.

The DEA, FBI and US financial structures have pushed European partners to systematically use lifestyle analysis as an investigative tool. This approach has also found application in Albania, where SPAK has increasingly integrated elements of financial analysis and open data in drug trafficking and money laundering investigations. Social networks, especially Instagram, have become a source of information that helps build real profiles of criminal assets.

Trafficking bosses avoid public exposure. They do not appear, do not post or declare anything. Instead, exposure comes from their inner circle, mainly from people who display an extremely high standard of living with no known economic activity. These profiles allow investigators to reconstruct the movements, contacts and real level of spending associated with criminal capital.

According to information provided by Pamfleti, this method was also used in the investigation into the criminal organization involving the brothers Artur and Klevis Hoxhosmani, both suspected of international cocaine trafficking from Latin America to the European Union and Great Britain. In addition to classic criminal evidence, the investigation also included an analysis of the lifestyle of people closely associated with them.

In this context, the case of Kejda Ajazi, the daughter of former minister and former MP Majlinda Bregu, who was romantically linked to Klevis Hoxhosmani, also comes up. Ajazi had publicly exhibited a luxurious life from Dubai to Monaco, showing frequent trips, elite surroundings, cars worth around 500 thousand euros and luxury goods such as the “Hermes Birkin” bag. The investigation does not treat the display of luxury as a media or moral phenomenon but as a financial indicator.

According to information provided by Pamfleti, the investigations do not stop there and also include specific elements of movement that have attracted the attention of agents. Another girl, the daughter of a former member of the Albanian Parliament, currently based in Dubai, has come into focus due to the constant exposure of luxury on social networks, where she shows bags worth tens of thousands of euros, luxury watches and cars that reach very high figures, without any known economic activity to justify this standard of living. In addition to these elements, investigators have also noticed repeated movements by private plane, a detail that according to Pamfleti's sources has proven decisive for intensifying the tracking, since this level of mobility did not appear in other profiles linked to known traffickers and created an even deeper disproportion between the expenses and the declared resources.

Sources indicate that this girl is being investigated due to strong suspicions that she is cohabiting with an international drug trafficker, a name unknown to the Albanian public, but repeatedly documented in secret files coming from international partners at SPAK. The investigation focuses on the connection between the display of luxury, the use of private jets and possible money flows originating from international criminal activity, treating this combination as a clear indicator of unjustified wealth.

These cases show that the strategy has changed radically. Investigators no longer expect technical errors from traffic bosses and are not limited to wiretaps or encrypted communications. They track wealth, social circle, mode of movement and public display of luxury. Instagram no longer serves as an image tool but as a source of financial evidence. In this war, the life of luxury does not represent success but signals investigation... /Pamphlet
