"Better to die a hero than live a traitor"...
Has Russian dictator Vladimir Putin taken revenge by eliminating his greatest rival? He had many reasons to do so, while not having many scruples.
Or was it all a hoax? Wagner's boss Yevgeny Prigozhin must have known he was a Kremlin target. This is why, according to some observers, Wagner's boss may have staged his death to cover it up!
This is not believed only by some of his staunchest supporters, who still hope that Prigozhin is alive. Because it has not yet been definitively clarified whether the mercenary boss was really on board the plane that crashed on Wednesday.
Doubts about Prigozhin's death were first raised on Wednesday evening by the Telegram channel of the mercenary group, "Zona Gri".
The second plane
As "Zona Gri" reported, on Wednesday at 19:58, a second plane was in the air next to the crashed private plane. He did not crash, but returned to Moscow after the crash of the first one and landed there safely.
This is also confirmed by flight tracker FlightRadar24. The downed aircraft was an Embraer Legacy 600, registration RA-02795, the second aircraft an Embraer ERJ-135 BJ 'Legacy 650' with registration RA-02748.
"Where was Yevgeny Prigozhin really? There is currently no accurate data on this," said the "Grey Zone" channel.
Was Wagner's number two on board?
The hope of many Wagner supporters is that Prigozhin was on the second plane. This can be supported by the fact that as a person in danger, he often gave false clues about his whereabouts.
And as a precaution, he could not have boarded the plane together with Dmitri Utkin - at least that's what experts think.
Uktin is Wagner's number two and the main commander of the group. It was he who gave the private army its name when it was founded: the neo-Nazi with SS symbols as tattoos on his upper body is a fan of German composer Richard Wagner and bears the battle name 'Wagner'.
The bodies have not yet been identified
Only at 21:27 on Wednesday evening, "Grey Zone" reported on Prigozhin's death, immediately starting the worship of Wagner's propaganda hero: "Even in hell, he will be better," they quoted a expression of Prigozhin himself, who once said: "We will end up in hell, but we will be the best there."
But even confirming Prigozhin's death could lead to a backlash among staunch Wagner supporters, who will continue to deny their leader's death.
Later, "Grey Zone" quoted another expression of Prigozhin, as if to show how brutal Wagner's mercenaries are. The quote read: "Better to die a hero than live a traitor"./ Taken and adapted from "Bild"
