United States efforts to block maritime traffic from Iranian ports are not giving a clear picture of their effectiveness.
Washington has promised to stop ships leaving Iran until the country reaches a deal to end the conflict, but expert analysis and maritime tracking data show a more complex reality.
According to AFP, the changing objectives and unclear activities of some ships make it difficult to assess the success of this blockade.
" There has been confusion over the scope and parameters of the blockade due to conflicting information from the US administration and delays in releasing data ," said Bridget Diakun, an analyst at Lloyd's List Intelligence.
Tracking data and satellite imagery analyzed by maritime companies show that dozens of ships have passed through the Strait of Hormuz, including Iranian-flagged vessels under sanctions, as well as vessels moving to and from Iranian ports.
According to experts, once they enter the Persian Gulf, the ships can manipulate transmitter signals to hide their position and even carry out oil transfers from one ship to another, testing the limits of the American blockade.
The situation on the ground remains dynamic, while the effectiveness of American measures continues to be a subject of debate among analysts.
