The court session of the former American president, Donald Trump, ends. He is accused of civil fraud and of generating more than $1 billion by inflating the value of 23 of his properties and assets.
New York Attorney General Letitia James has charged Trump with fraud from 2011 to 202. Based on the three-year investigation, James said Trump owes at least $250 million in fraud and seeks a five-year asset freeze commercial real estate of Trump and the Trump Organization.
Trump told reporters before the trial began that the case was a "fraud" and a political vendetta by James, and during a break in the hearing called the Democrat "a corrupt and terrible person."
He also accused Judge Arthur Engoron, calling him a partisan Democrat who is using the case to interfere in the 2024 presidential election, where Trump holds a large lead for the Republican nomination.
"This is a judge who should be removed. This is a judge who should be out of office ," Trump told reporters. "
Trump's campaign used the trial to raise funds, saying he was protecting his family and his reputation from New York Democrats, whom he called "corrupt tyrants."
