Israeli Ambassador to the US Michael Leiter has stated that Iranian attacks on Arad, Dimona and northern Israel resulted in “a number of casualties” and over 150 injuries. Leiter stressed that Israel will respond by continuing until we bring this regime to its knees.
" We can no longer live with a country that has slandered us, that intends to destroy us, that declares that it will destroy us all the time and is now firing ballistic missiles at all its neighbors. This must stop ," he told CNN.
Asked about Iran's missile capabilities, Leiter said the launch of these missiles underscores what Trump and Netanyahu have said, that Tehran cannot be trusted.
" They said they don't have intercontinental ballistic missiles. Well, now they've proven they have them ," he added.
While the attack was unsuccessful, it shows that Iran may not be adhering to its self-imposed missile range limit of 2,000 kilometers, raising concerns that Tehran could strike US and European interests further away than previously thought.
However, sources told CNN late last month that there was no information to suggest that Iran is pursuing an intercontinental ballistic missile program to strike the US at this time.
