"They are waiting for them at the front", Putin ultimatum to increase

Russia's armed forces still do not have enough of some weapons, including unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), despite a major increase in production, President Vladimir Putin said today.

At a meeting of the State Military-Industrial Committee, Putin said that almost all defense enterprises fulfilled their orders in full last year.

"For example, the production of weapons, communications, reconnaissance and electronic warfare systems has now doubled. The troops received more than 4,000 units of armored vehicles, 180 combat aircraft and helicopters," he said, according to statements broadcast on television.

More than 1.5 million drones of various types have also been produced, Putin added, including about 4,000 unmanned aerial vehicles with first-person view (FPV) - lightweight models designed for precision targeting.

But Putin added, "I know very well and many people here who are participating in our meeting today know equally well: there are still not enough of these weapons. Not enough," adding, "I am confident that all plans to increase the production of the necessary equipment, in this case drones, will definitely be fulfilled. They are eagerly waiting for them at the front."

Putin's statements indicate that Russia intends to further increase military production in the fourth year of its war in Ukraine, even as it holds talks with the United States about prospects for ending the conflict.

Russia has turned its defense factories into 24-hour operations since the start of the war. It has also received large amounts of military equipment from other countries, including Shahed unmanned aerial vehicles from Iran and artillery systems, ballistic missiles and rockets from North Korea.
