"A father sometimes has to use harsh language"/ Summit in The Hague,
NATO chief Mark Rutte and Trump

During a press conference today in The Hague, US President Donald Trump and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte spoke about the tense situation between Israel and Iran.

Trump compared the conflict between the two countries to a fight between children:

"They're like two kids in the schoolyard. They fight like crazy and you can't stop them. Let them fight for two or three minutes, then it's easier to separate them."

His comments sparked laughter, and Rutte, in a joking tone, added:

“And sometimes dad has to use a little harsher language to stop them.”

Trump did not deny it:

“Yes, sometimes you have to speak harshly. You have to use a special word.”
Their meeting came at a time when tensions in the Middle East are rising, and NATO is examining its role in global stability. While the comments were informal and humorous, they highlight Trump’s straightforward approach to international affairs.

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that US strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities could contribute to reaching an agreement on the conflict in Gaza between Israel and Hamas.

During a statement to the media at the NATO summit in The Hague, alongside the alliance's Secretary General, Mark Rutte, Trump said he is "very close" to an agreement on the conflict in the Gaza Strip.

"I believe that great progress is being made for Gaza. Because of the attack that we launched, I think we will have some very good news," he told reporters, writes A2 CNN.

Trump added that the strikes "showed strength" and that this had an impact on regional dynamics. "I think it helped somewhat, showed a lot of strength. But even before that, we were very close to a deal on Gaza," the US president said.

The comments come after the US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, which Trump said had "totally destroyed" Tehran's ability to develop nuclear weapons. He has suggested that pressure on Iran, a supporter of Hamas, could help ease the conflict between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza.
